OET Score Calculator

Enter your four OET sub-test scores (0 to 500) to see the grade for each one and whether your result meets the minimum scores set by the NMC, GMC, Ahpra, NMBI, ECFMG and six other regulators. It takes ten seconds and works for any profession.

How is OET scored?

Each of the four sub-tests is reported separately on a scale from 0 to 500, in steps of 10, and each score maps to a letter grade. There is no overall score: regulators look at each sub-test on its own.

GradeScore rangeWhat it usually means for registration
A450–500Above every common regulator minimum.
B350–440The minimum most regulators ask for in each sub-test.
C+300–340Accepted for Writing by the NMC, NMBI, ECFMG and both New Zealand councils; below the GMC and Ahpra minimums.
C200–290Below the usual registration minimums.
D100–190Below the usual registration minimums.
E0–90Below the usual registration minimums.

What OET score do you need?

The four most common targets are below; the calculator checks eleven. Requirements change, so always confirm on the regulator's own page before you book.

How are Listening and Reading raw scores converted?

Listening and Reading each have 42 questions worth one mark. OET converts your raw mark to the 0–500 scale, and according to OET, candidates awarded Grade B (350) typically score at least 30 out of 42. The exact boundary moves slightly with each test version, and OET does not publish a fixed raw mark for C+ (300).

How does an OET score compare with IELTS and CEFR?

OET publishes its own benchmarking tables. Grade B sits at CEFR C1 and is benchmarked to IELTS 7.0 (350–390) or 7.5 (400–440).

Below your target in one sub-test?

Most candidates who miss their target are short in a single sub-test, and it is usually Writing or Speaking. Those two are where structured feedback moves scores fastest.

OET score calculator FAQ

What is a passing score in OET?

OET has no single pass mark. Each regulator sets its own minimum. Many ask for Grade B (350) in each sub-test; the NMC, NMBI and ECFMG accept 300 in Writing, and Ahpra asks for 350, 360, 350 and 360 for tests taken from 23 April 2026.

What grade is 350 in OET?

350 is Grade B. Grade B covers scores from 350 to 440 on the 0 to 500 scale.

Does this calculator replace my official result?

No. It applies the published grade bands and regulator minimums to the scores you enter. Your official OET result and your regulator's current rules always take priority.

Which regulators does the calculator check?

It checks the NMC, GMC and GPhC in the UK, Ahpra in Australia, NMBI and the Medical Council of Ireland, both New Zealand councils, ECFMG and CGFNS VisaScreen in the USA, and the Singapore Medical Council. It checks one-sitting minimums; combined-sitting rules are explained in the OET score requirements guide.
