OET Test Dates 2026, Fees and Results
OET on paper runs on fixed Saturdays roughly every two weeks in 2026, with Americas sessions on the Friday before, and the last paper sessions are on 18 and 19 December. The full test costs AU$587 (US$455 for computer and OET@Home tests in the USA). Computer results can arrive in 48 hours; paper results take from 13 days.
Which OET test mode should you book?
OET is delivered in three ways. The mode changes which professions you can book, how Speaking works, when bookings close and how fast results arrive. For a side-by-side guide to the two venue formats, read OET on computer vs paper.

Before you book OET@Home, check that your regulator accepts it. The NMC and the GMC accept OET@Home. Ahpra, the HCPC, the GPhC, NMBI, the Medical Council of Ireland, the Nursing Council of New Zealand and CGFNS VisaScreen do not. ECFMG allows OET@Home only if there is no physical test venue in your country.

OET paper test dates 2026
OET on paper runs on fixed dates. Global sessions are on Saturdays, about two a month, and Americas sessions are on the Friday before each Global date. Paper bookings close 24 days before the test, which falls on a Wednesday for Global sessions and a Tuesday for Americas sessions.

Sessions alternate between dates open to all seven paper professions and dates for Nursing and Medicine only. The 19 December 2026 session is Nursing and Medicine only. Check each date in the official date finder before you plan around it.
Remaining OET paper dates in 2026
These are the last Global paper sessions of 2026, with booking deadlines worked out from OET's 24-day closing rule.

The matching Americas session is the day before each date. The last one is Friday 18 December 2026: bookings close on Tuesday 24 November and results are due on 5 January 2027. Both December sessions are the final chance in 2026 to sit OET on paper.
OET on Computer and OET@Home dates
OET on Computer does not follow the paper calendar. In the computer dates we checked on OET's booking page (March to July 2026), Global computer sessions ran from Monday to Saturday in most weeks, with a few weeks that had none. All 12 professions were available, and each date showed a results date, usually the Friday of the following week.
Computer and OET@Home bookings close 7 days before the test at 11:59 pm UTC, so you can book much closer to your exam than on paper. Dates and venues vary by country. Use the official OET date finder to see what is available where you live.
OET test dates 2027
As of 2 November 2026, OET has not published any 2027 test dates or a 2027 date pattern. We will not guess them. When OET releases them, they will appear on the official booking page with their booking deadlines and results dates. If you are applying for the 2027 Match, see OET for ECFMG: ECFMG asks candidates to sit OET Medicine on or before the last scheduled date in December 2026.
How much does OET cost in 2026?
The full OET test costs AU$587 in every mode. Candidates in the USA pay US$455 for OET on Computer at a venue or OET@Home.

A single sub-test re-sit is cheaper, but it only helps if your regulator accepts it. The NMC, Ahpra, the Medical Council of New Zealand and ECFMG all require all four sub-tests in each sitting. Sources: OET fees, OET re-marking policy.
Rescheduling and cancellation fees
Changing your booking costs less the earlier you do it. These are the fees in OET's test regulations.

When do OET results come out?
OET reports each sub-test separately on a scale from 0 to 500. There is no overall OET score or grade.
- Computer and OET@Home: results in as little as 48 hours after you finish all four sub-tests. For OET on Computer, OET says 95% are released within 6 calendar days.
- Paper: from 13 days after the test date, or from 5 days in India and the Philippines.
- Doctors applying to ECFMG: ECFMG says OET Medicine results are typically released 10 business days after the test.
OET describes all timeframes as indicative. OET itself sets no validity period for results: each regulator decides how long it accepts them, so check the OET score requirements for your destination. To see which grade each score gives, use the OET score calculator.
How to choose your OET test date
Work backwards from the date your regulator or employer needs your result, then add time for preparation and a possible re-sit.
Start from your deadline
Find the date your regulator, employer or ECFMG must receive your scores, then count back the results time for your mode.
Book 6 to 10 weeks ahead
Our advice: this gives you a firm target for preparation and protects you from paper booking closing 24 days before the test.
Need results fast?
OET on Computer gives the quickest results and closes bookings only 7 days before, which helps when a deadline is close.
Check the mode is accepted
Do not book OET@Home unless your regulator accepts it. Ahpra, NMBI, the GPhC and the HCPC do not.
Leave room for a re-sit
If your regulator needs all four sub-tests in one sitting, plan a second full test date in case one sub-test falls short.
Applying for the 2027 Match?
Sit OET Medicine by the last December 2026 date. ECFMG must receive your scores by 31 January 2027. OET for ECFMG.
